How to edit posts

I seem to be missing how to edit my posts, my permissions say I can edit posts, when i looked up a thread it says there is a pencil like symbol beside your post to edit, however non of my posts seems to have this ?

UPDATE - for some reason this post has the edit button, but the others do not.

There is a time limit on editing . Once the time is up , you can't edit .

Used to be 10 minutes as is common with many other forums, but due to requests I made it longer a while ago. There are reasons why too long is not a good thing .. some may disagree, but I'm happy with the status quo so far.
