Hi everyone,

Thought i should press me beak in here. i see a few boys from the BCEF are already in here , hi chaps...
I have been in the plant machinery industry for 35 years working for machinery dealers in Essex on most types of machinery and attachments.
We now have a new purpose built workshop in Colchester concentrating on machinery attachments and hydraulic circuits to suit.
We Sell and repair all types of breakers which is our specialist field.
Therefore i am only too happy to talk and help anyone with any breaker /attachment troubleshoots just ask away ....however, there are times where i like to pick some brains on here too, that's what forums are all about.

Hi Nig, I got one too - gonna have to bear with me, as I know sod all about breaker circuits and if it's a stupid Q then just put it down to my total lack of knowledge.

Been looking for a flail head for the 'Drema to do all the banks and hedges around here ...... specially the banks and was planning on running the motor on it, off of the breaker circuit on her.
3/4" feed and 1" return, to tank, on the dipper.

The main concern is that ordinarily a machine when running a breaker is stationary.

Would I have sufficient oil to run a flail motor and still be able to have other functions operable and ideally be able to travel slowly too?
Bear in mind also, that I am lucky that, time is no longer money to me and this would not be on a commercial scale, earning.
I just need to be able to do these bloody chores from the seat, rather than struggling on a steep bank with a brush cutter anymore

As I say, apologies if they're 'dull' Q.s, but I have no idea as to the answers (and don't mind admitting it)!!
Always up for a lesson or two ......... in anything!!

Yeh seen it before Boyo ....... IIRC I put it up a while back 'elsewhere' awesome innit - he ain't tracking though

When I engage drive in the 'Drema everything else 'coughs'
Only way really is to try it, I 'spose. I've got a biggish motor I could plumb in to the breaker circuit and give it a go.

I have two 5 foot wide flails, both tractor mounted. The 'ground level' one is directly off the Pto and says it needs 40 hp to drive it which I can believe. The hedge flail is a very similar size but is driven off a hydraulic motor from a pump on the Pto and must absorb the same or perhaps more power.

So the question is do you have 40 plus hp to spare on your hydraulic services when tracking?
