Lend Lease has won a AU$115m (£75m) contract from the Queensland Department of Transport & Main Roads for a road scheme in Brisbane, Australia.

The project is located 11km south of the central business district. It is due to be completed mid 2014.The design and construction contract for the Mains Road Kessels Road intersection upgrade will be delivered by Baulderstone, part of Lend Lease’s Australian infrastructure business.
Lend Lease Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Steve McCann, said the project builds on the existing relationship with Queensland Department of Transport & Main Roads, as well as increasing Baulderstone’s engineering footprint in the state. “We are pleased to be working with the Department of Transport and Main Roads to deliver this major road project in Queensland which will address a significant bottleneck in the Brisbane Urban Corridor,” he said.
A driven man with a burning passion.

The council here decided to con money from state government to build a truck route , to keep those dangerous nasty trucks away from the city area ..Great idea you think ?.Wrong . Housing estates have sprung up along the road .. Can't have people in cars Dicing with death ,pulling out in front of big bad dangerous trucks ,so we will build some roudabouts . They have just finished the last section . It crosses a road to nowhere . So what did they do ,put a set of traffic lights on it .. Now the road is complete ,Except for the intersecetion . 100 mts of road .an absolute fortune ,and 9 months to build . And on the busyest road into town , at the bottom of a hill of course ,their going to put traffic lights .

Yup sounds just like here. lol I wish they would put a bypass and twin the highway that goes through town here it can be so bloody noisy between the Harley Davidson motorcycles and loaded B-trains pounding the pavement here, not to mention all the weekend warriors going camping in St. Malo south of town here.

Well , we are still waiting for the intersection to be completed . Not sure , think they changed their minds about the traffic lights .Traffic coming out of the new road will have to wait for a gap in the traffic to get accross the inbound traffic lane .
