Substantial bucket you have there Stock, where was that pic taken?
Looks like it would be a pig to dig with though.
My first thoughts when seeing the op yesterday was about spam as most but not quite all the buckets from eight tonne down the way hitting these shores come from India.

The company that makes that bucket intended it for use in hard frozen ground or soft rock like sandstone and shale, where blasting may not be an option. The idea behind it is that you progessively work those teeth in but at the same time your suppose to be able to scoop up the chips after ripping a little bit....Personally after having had many years of experience working in very frozen ground I think this ripper bucket is obsolete when many people these days have hydraulic quick hitches and can change from a ripper or a breaker to a bucket very quickly.

Ive actually already had a discussion with the op some weeks ago in this regard .. and their intention seems genuine , and I'd certainly not have been aware of such a bucket in the absence of this thread.

Interesting ... that said Ive not seen many hitches in use that have the integrated hydraulics .. so it would still be a pain for many who have to power off and connect hoses etc ?
Please don't PM me for plant advice.. thanks .. Post in the forum where I will gladly help, as will many of our contributors.. as the info and responses will help everyone else, which is why we exist

Yeah I have yet to see a hitch on this side of the pond with integrated auxiliary hydraulics. But I have started to see improved auxiliary hook ups where you push a button and the hydraulic pressure behind the couplers is bled off allowing easier hookup when using breakers and other attachments.

Yes,i agree with that, using a hydraulic hammer or ripper,it will work efficently. But sometimes that kind of bucket also can be used in some not too rough ground. After after, the hammer or ripper need the extra cost.
