Tree shear

Looking for a tree shear for my 8 tonne machine, any recommendations from users out there ?

Dont got any recommendations for you, but I have some tips to find what you need

Firstly, what are you going to shear mostly? What do you have in mind?

You got a number of options.
Tigergrip style for one, wich has a static blade that two claws grips the tree/branch into. Cutting the tree by forcing it into the blade.. Wild guess would be a max size at about 20cm diameter trees for a 8 ton, and I would question their effectiveness on thickets.
I think their one of the cheapest options..
They can also have a hydraulic pushed blade.


Scissors. Same use as tigergrip, but without the grappel.. Maybe a tad better at small stuff.


Also you got the option of shears with single or double grabs. The singel one for big stuff, and the double for both bigger trees and thicket.
With the ones with double grappels, you can start with clamping both grapples around a small tree, cut and then only opening one onto the next tree before clamping the other and cut again. This way you can stack a bunch of small trees together before laying it down..
Dunno bout these for a 8t. And their more expensive

I have had mine for 2 years now. I only have small bushes to cut, so I have very light model. So far they have been easy to use and maintain. I have had to sharpen the blades several times however.
