  • 801.4 hydraulic oil filter mf100

    Hi guys
After buying a filter for the hydraulic oil tank, i decided to remove housing and replace all seals and the gasket between tank and housing, see attached photo, I cannot find anyone who supplies the gasket. The company that supplied the filter told me they do not have and also interestingly told me they could not supply me with the seal kit, as they only supply JCB with the kit and filter housing. Any idea where i can get the gasket, other than ,making one.

    thank you

Terry maybe best to contact a JCB supplies company, I have recently done so and found them particularly helpful .

        manufacturer mp filtri

Hi muz, yes i have serial number too, and thats is who i contacted. They sent me all the drawings and sizes and parts list for all the filters, but as i said the are tied to JCB and cannot sell retail. I believe that is not unusual, my neighbour who has a 1990 JCB 3cx sitemaster has had similar experiences over the years. Even now he has the retaining cage broken in a needle roller bearing in his hydraulic pump, JCB wil not suppy bearing only a kit, for 500 euro and they advised it better to buy a new pump (from them of course 1300 euro) its a joke. he found a new pump in uk for £450, But he should not have to do that, if its only a bearing gone, is it the same for other manufacturers?

Has he tried taking said bearing to a bearing specialists like FAG or similar ?? it's probably a std enough item
If it's got tracks, wheels, t*ts, or an engine, at some point it's gonna give you trouble!!

well he has tried to find an equivalent via internet sites , ie fafnir.
the original company that made them was torrington (bearing AJ 162-522) but Timken acquired the company but apparently they are not responding to his emails. I think its a USA company. he said yesterday he is going to buy a new pump, as he wants to use the machine to repair the track to our houses. We are quite remote here,
            thank you

does he have the bearing dimensions to search with ...... using one maker's numbers rarely turns a lot up .... dimensions though are a different story

try googling with them to start ..... all and in combinations or try manufacturer's sites with them ..... most have the facility to search their sites

I use a specialist here in Glasgow John Bell of http://www.servtechhydraulicsltd.co.uk/ .. John is real good he'll either be able to put his finger on it, or tell you not to waste your time trying .. workshop like a bomb site, but he know where every spring and ball bearing is
