I was working today at a job and I had to move gravel from the pavement (sidewalk) over a small wall into the garden of course I used the JCB as the was 10 tons after all! But as I was finished an American gentleman (tourist) came past and was chatting. He asked if I used a stone slinger? My reply (I am an awful bugger to swear) was what the f**k is a stone slinger! He never really gave me much of an answer so gentlemen of another continent I ask you wtf is a stone slinger?

Ha ha ha Jim a stone slinger is a type of gravel truck with a conveyor on it that moves at a high speed and can move in lets say a 180 degree arc and literally 'sling' or 'throw' the gravel to where you want it. They use them here a lot for spreading drain stone (clean gravel no fines) before backfilling a basement after putting in drain tile.
