I have 4 Vintage Fordsons, one of which I just did a full restore on, and is pictured elsewhere on this here forum IIRC. Being a bit of a fan, one of the best hybrids of this tractor was the 'triple D' which was made by a Ford dealer in Essex , Ernest Doe & Sons and stands for 'Doe Dual Drive' It was probably one of the first true 4wd tractors, built to deal with the heavy Essex clay, and the need to pull ever more furrows.
I was offered one a while back unrestored for a bout £12000.00. and it was too rich for me at the time so I never took it .. one of the ones in the following vid (or very like it) sold for £63000 or thereabouts a few years ago

The earliest were based on the Fordson power major tractors (which was the one Ive just restored), and later continued with each skid unit that ford produced thereafter for a good few years
Lovely machines, and apart from a county super 4 or 1884, I would'nt have anything else at the top of my Vintage wish list, largly because I grew up with them or their variants as a boy :wub:.

some nice roadless stuff there ... I can smell the freshly turned soil now, and the diesel smoke,..... leaky diff oil seals ... and the.....
