I see a shackle on the boom lifting eye ... but it looks like the fitter has tied the straps to the dipper ram hoses to take the weight of the boom

The ratchet strap is tied to the hole behind the ram to hold it up!

My 8080 broke the rod at the piston on the boom ram . So that photo does not sirprise me .Comment

I thought for the longest time that JCB was made by Sumitomo like Case but after hearing Ian and Jim's trouble with they're excavators I'll stay far away from them. Unless it's to cut one up with a big Labounty scrap shear..gif "evil")
