  • EC15B leaking hydraulic oil

    Hi,

The -15 has been leaking hydraulic oil for a while. It is not a torrent but rather a series of drops of oil every now and then originating somewhere out of the spagetti of the pipes. The valve block is not leaking and it is very hard to see where the leak is.

Do you have any advice how to detect the leak ? or would that be waste of time but rather concentrate on tightening all possible joints ?

Top down is always the advice .. gravity only takes it south unless high pressure is at stake .. so start from there . Dont usually get leaks on these machines, those euro metric fittings are pretty tight .. to a fault sometimes ... occassionally get the odd collar sweat but nothing more unless a hose has chaffed somewhere .. other than that .. you'll know a proper burst when you see it
Please don't PM me for plant advice.. thanks .. Post in the forum where I will gladly help, as will many of our contributors.. as the info and responses will help everyone else, which is why we exist

Yes, south it goes. Now that we have +25C temperatures it is almost enjoyable to get entangled in oily pipes when searching for leaks.
