  • Southern Plant Spares

    Morning all,

Just a quick shout to Southern Plant Spares. Was up a certain creek without a paddle and needed red lithium complex grease, ordered online with them on Saturday and was delivered Monday morning.
Most definitely recommended and hopefully will be using again soon with an upcoming project.

Locofitter - just came across your post.
I have just bought a set of buckets and a hitch for my Kubota KX36-3 - https://www.southernplantspares.com/...ox-quick-hitch and can confirm their service was excellent, and am very happy with the quality of the products.
I'm thinking about ordering one of their riddle buckets next week - anybody used one before?

I bought a whole load of bits from them for my JCB803 when I got it a couple of years ago and they were very helpful.

Talking of Southern Plant Spares! they seem to be having a bit of a sale this weeknd and offering 8% off! I decided to follow your reviews and order some grease for my digger, only saved me like £1.50 but its better off in my pocket!

New grease so time for a new toy, bought this grease gun a while back with one of those G-Couplers. Both recommended by a friend and I'm actually really impressed!

If you're on the look out for a new one, have a go with that above. Pricey but most definitely worth it!

              lithium EP2 grease .......

              http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3004512346...84.m1436.l2649

Used these guys for some time ... good quality, good service; grease is good and their cartridges are a doddle to use .... 36 sticks x 400g .. 50 quid to your door.

              https://www.smithandallan.com/

cheaper to buy it on ebay, than their website ...... unfortunately I've yet to see them list lithium di-sulphate
Their grease buckets on ebay are very good value too

              http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lithium-EP...e=STRK:MESE:IT

They're also Shell agents and do Rimula oils, which can be hen's teeth to find sometimes ..... it don't get better than Rimula IMHDO

Oh and they've been in biz about 100 years
If it's got tracks, wheels, t*ts, or an engine, at some point it's gonna give you trouble!!

I had a couple of CAT 8F9866 guns last year off a guy on ebay and several guys on the CEF had some too, on my recommendation.

21 quid a throw to your door ..... Chromed Alemite guns ... made for CAT ..... they are awesome .... hasn't advertised any for a while but put in a saved search for Connaught01 ... CAT 8F9866 grease gun ..... might even be worth messaging the guy .... see if he has any in stock and the G couplers are a must have to attach to 'em ..... never go back to a standard coupler after you've had a 'G'

Indeed the G coupler is a bloody nifty little thing, my only gripe with it is that it would be better if it were a bit smaller in diameter and length. However, for the ball ache it saves it's definitely worth the money!

I've only recently gone over to grease cartridges, used to bulk load. Wish I converted sooner as it's soooo much better!

They're great 99% of the time though Lee ..... I have a metre long flexi on my EP2 gun and it's so easy to use ... clip on and carry on ... pump away .

Can even get it on prop nipples as long as they lined up right

as for the grease cartridges .... you'll honestly have a problem beating that price I put up the other night ... and the quality .... top class stuff from Smith & Allan
