Plowing the river ice

This is something I do largely for fun but helps keep our river ice trail open and improves the thickness of the ice. I put a sticky camera mount on my helmet and decided to record my plowing activities. I've got some other footage from a tripod that I'll try to edit in both from last winter and this winter. It all starts with a series of slow speed patrols looking for partially submerged stumps, rocks, trees etc. and then finally once I'm fairly certain it's safe I'll make a slow speed pass and go till the river narrows and gets to 'stumpy' then I'll gradually make more and more passes to widen it out. And it's a shit load of fun.

Hi Bert , You get to have way too much fun .How does the blade lift ? 12 volt electricof Hydraulic ?

The blade lifts by using the 12 volt 3500lb winch that's mounted in the front beneath the radiator. Some manufacturers use the winch, others are now going to an electric actuator and on some of the UTV's or we call them side by sides they use an electric over hydraulic system to raise, lower, and also pivot side to side.
