In these times of demanding customers needs, I often think about how best to meet deadlines and am concious of failure about meeting my customers expectations, but sometimes the customer has to made to understand that the whole practice of getting him his product requires a lot of effort on our part. People also often expect 'that' delivery for next to no cost, but the reality is it cannot be done. I'm no leftie socialist, or health and safety nut case..... but I am a realist, and whilst many people expect you to break the speed limit to get to them, or break your drivers hours to satisfy their needs, I see that as a customer to avoid.
My walk round check this morning whilst under pressure revealed this in a drive axle tyre which I did not notice from the previous days work

So a tyre change was needed before I could set off .... Fortunately my customer wasnt on the phone moaning, and when I explained my lateness during a later call about some site conditions .. it didnt seem a problem .. shit happens folks !! .. and if your customer doesent understand that .. say good bye ... in my view
Dont let work pressure or customers push you into avoiding doing your usual safety drill
